fathers are not born 1

To ‘become a father’ takes just a moment in about nine months…however, to ‘be a father’,…a dad…takes an entire lifetime!
“Fathers, like mothers, are not born. Men grow into fathers – and fathering is a very important stage in their development.”
– David M. Gottesman.

“It’s much easier to ‘become’ a father than to ‘be’ one.”
– Kent Nerburn.

Being responsible for another life does not just happen, it is an acquired skill that continues to add on the positives whilst subtracting the rejects, so as to grow into a symbiotic sync with the mother and give their child the best!

A father is instrumental in making us who we are.

I’ll never forget the moment I became a Father. I remember the moment when Ryan’s head slid out of his mother; and taking his first breath he gave out a deafening but joyful cry, his first, announcing his arrival to the sleeping world in the early hours of the morning. 2. 45 Am. I held him in my gloved hands, my sparkling eyes staring at my lovely wife and for a moment I was lost in glory! Words failed me!!

I had become a father and was to begin the journey into daddy-hood!! And almost the same experience re-occurred with his brother, Theodore. Call me selfish but it is a great pleasure, not just to become the father, but also to be the dad of such angelic beings. It’s humbled me, greatly. The desire to give yourself selflessly for your spouse and kids…Nothing is more important than this!!

Do Have a Blissful Daddy-hood!
